The Rockfish Valley Foundation (RVF) is proud to participate in this year’s Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) from February 14-17. The GBBC is a joint project of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society that consists of an annual four day period in which participants all across the country take a small amount of time to identify and count their local birds. Since RVF’s Trail System is everyone’s backyard, we are planning two sessions where you and your family can come out to count birds with us. Our first program will be Saturday, Feb. 15 from 9-10AM and the second one is Sunday, Feb. 16 from 2-3PM. You don’t need to know a lot about birds or even have fancy binoculars; just come walk the trail with our naturalist; light refreshments on us! Raffle for a 50 pound bag of oiled sunflower seed. Children drawing for colorful bird poster each day.

YOU KNOW ABOUT THE Rockfish Valley TRAILS…THIS IS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN WHY IT’S ONE OF THE BEST BIRDING AREAS IN THE STATE OF VIRGINIA.
