Post 18 — The Natural History Center
The trail does not end at the trailhead
Fun Fact:
A good outdoor experience often sparks the same question: what was that? The Natural History Center extends the trail experience by giving visitors a place to keep asking—about wildlife, geology, local history, watersheds, and seasonal change.
Spot It:
Look for it just north of the Camille Trailhead on Route 151. Inside, exhibits and staff support can help connect what you noticed outdoors to the bigger stories of the Rockfish Valley.
Why It Matters Here:
ENLIT works best as an invitation, not a finish line. The Natural History Center gives hikers a next step: a place to turn curiosity into deeper local knowledge.
The Rockfish Valley Foundation works to protect and educate on the land, air, waters, and living history of the Rockfish Valley. We are volunteer-led and donor-funded. For information on donating or volunteering please visit us at rockfishvalley.org
